Warhawks Continue Record Book Revisions at Winona

The UW-Whitewater gymnastics team made six more top ten entries in the school record book in a 181.375-181.30 loss at Winona State University in Winona, Minnesota Sunday afternoon.

Justine Weyer (Colgate/Germantown) led the Warhawks, winning three of the four individual events as well as recording the top all-around score.  

The new top ten entries included the following performances.
  • Team score, 181.3, seventh
  • Team floor exercise, 46.35, sixth (Weyer, Ginelle Galub (Machesney Park, IL/Harlem), Danielle Crinzi (New Berlin/Eisenhower), Alison Lewis (Racine/Horlick), Amanda Smith (Rapid City, SD/Stevens))
  • Team vault, 46.75, second (Weyer, Crinzi, Allison Nelson (Naperville, IL/Neuqua Valley), Smith, Angel Simonini (Antioch, IL/Antioch))
  • Weyer in the vault, 9.575, fourth
  • Weyer on the uneven bars, 9.45, ninth
  • Weyer all-around, 37.675, fourth
The loss marked the first time in six competitions this season that UW-Whitewater has been outscored by a non-scholarship opponent.

UW-W's next competition will be Friday, February 22 at UW-Eau Claire.
