UW-Whitewater, ranked forth and fifth in the two NCAA Division III polls, defeated Lewis and Clark College 76-66 Saturday night in Portalnd, Oregon.

UW-Whitewater never trailed in the game, and led by as many as twelve, 35-23 with 6:00 left in the half. Lewis and Clark used a 7-0 run to close the margin and UW-W led 44-40 heading in to the locker room.
The Pioneers pulled within one point, 54-53 with 11:00 minutes remaining, but Whitewater responded with a 10-2 run to make it 64-55. Lewis and Clark never whittled the margin below seven the rest of the way.
UW-W shot a season best 61% from the floor, including 6-10 from three point range, helping make up for 10-21 free throw shooting. The Warhawks also out-rebounded L&C 40-28. The Pioneers, who usually make a living beyond the arc, shot just 7-25 (28%).
Whitewater guards Matt Goodwin (Milwaukee/King) and Myles McKay (Menomonee Falls/Menomonee Falls) led the way. Goodwin led all scorers with 26 points, hitting 9-14 shots. McKay racked up a double-double, with 16 points on 7-11 shooting and a career high 14 rebounds. Kori Vernon (Madison/Memorial) added ten points, and Tyson Kingsby (Milwaukee/Custer) came off the bench to provide nine points and six rebounds.
Lewis and Clark was led by Tyson Papenfuss, who scored 16 points on 8-14 shooting. James Hollins and David Berggren both scored 15.
UW-Whitewater will host Edgewood College Saturday November 29th at 8:00 pm in the Kachel William Center. The game is the Ketterhagen/MACC fund contest.
