The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's basketball team, ranked fourth and fifth in the two national Division III preseason polls, increased their record to 3-0 with a 90-63 win over Whitman College Friday in the Lewis and Clark Classic in Portland, Oregon.

UW-W shot 57% from the floor and limited Whitman to 36%, and the Warhawks enjoyed a 47-27 rebound bulge. The 'Hawks also had significant advantages in assists as Whitewater had 15 to Whitman's 7 and blocked shots with the UW-W's 7 to Whitman's zero.
Matt Goodwin (Milwaukee/King) led four Warhawks in double figures with 25 points. Myles McKay (Menomonee Falls/Menomonee Falls) contributed 18, Dustin Mitchell (Lac Du Flambeau/Lakeland) 12, and Chris Vines (Milwaukee/Washington) 10. Mitchell tallied a double-double, also grabbing 13 rebounds. He went 5-5 from the floor and 2-3 from the line.
The win brings Whitewater's regular record to 3-0 and drops Whitman College to 0-1.
The 'Hawks continue play in Portland, Oregon with a game against Lewis and Clark College Saturday, November, 22. UW-W will open the home schedule Saturday, November 29 at 8:00 when Edgewood College visits Kachel Gym in Williams Center for the Ketterhagen/MACC Fund game.
