The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's basketball team defeated Ripon College 75-66 at the Ripon College Tournament Saturday, November 22.

The Warhawks and Redhawks were tied 34-34 at halftime.
Whitewater managed to build a nine point lead in the second half, despite going 0-7 from three point range. UW-W made up for the shooting woes with a 46-29 rebound advantage. The Warhawks also used the free throw line to their advantage, hitting 20-35 while Ripon made 14-18. Whitewater's defense also blocked six shots and Ripon none.
Senior center Tiffany Morton (Beloit/Memorial) had game highs in points, 18, and rebounds, 13. It gave her back-to-back double-doubles and her fifteenth career double double, second on the UW-W career list.
Also in double figures for UW-W were Megan Theune (Whitewater/Whitewater) with 13 points, with Kelsey Hendrickson (Monroe/Monroe) and Heidi Sonntag (Milwaukee/Wisconsin Lutheran) contributing 10 each.
Jessica DeHamer led Ripon with 17 points and also topped the team with 7 rebounds. Ashley Meister added 14 points and Alexis Becker 10. Three Redhawks had three steals and Carissa Zuercher had a game high assists.
UW-W, ranked number one in both preseason polls of National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III polls, is 2-0. The Warhawks will open the home portion of their schedule Monday, November 24, hosting Edgewood College at 7:00 in Kachel Gym of Williams Center.
Ripon is 1-3.
