Oshkosh got out in front early, with Jennifer Nesbitt hitting the net at 12:28 with her second goal of the year. Nesbitt's goal came from a distance straight out from the goal, lifting over UW-W's keeper. Almost from that point on Whitewater controlled the rest first half, keeping the ball in their offensive zone most of the time. Stacey Schultz (Menomonee Falls/Menomonee Falls) tied the game at 28:49 with her first goal of the season. Sara Brown (Lake Zurich, IL/Lake Zurich), with an assist from Becky Cera (Wauwatosa/Wauwatosa West), put in the game winner on a crossing pass at 36:21.
Although all the scoring came in the first half, UW-O closed the game with pressure on the Warhawk defense, as UW-W had done in the first half.
Mary Scanlin (Waunakee/Waunakee) picked up the win in goal for UW-W, making four saves.
UW-W will travel to Eau Claire to take on the Blugolds at 2:00 Saturday. The next home contest for the Warhawks will be Saturday, October 11 at 3:00 with UW-La Crosse visiting Fiskum Field.
