The UW-Whitewater women's soccer team traveled to Decorah, Iowa on Thursday and lost to the Luther Norse 1-0. The loss it the third winless game in a row for the Warhawks (6-4-1, 1-1-1) after winning six of their first eight contests this season.
The Norse would get on the scoreboard forty minutes into the game when Emily Ironside scored on an assist from Andrea Martinson. The Norse outshot the Warhawks 6-0 in the first half.
In the second half the Warhawks put on the offensive pressure getting off seven shot to Luther's three, but they were unable to tie the game. UW-Whitewater Goalkeeper Amy Bailey (Whitefish Bay/Whitefish Bay) (freshman, Whitefish Bay) made three saves in the game.
The Warhawks will have two more matches this upcoming weekend as they host the undefeated Blugolds of UW-Eau Claire on Saturday, September 29, at 1 pm at Fiskum Field and then travel to St. Norbert College on Sunday, September 30, to play another 1 pm game.
