UW-Whitewater defeats Beloit and Coe

UW-Whitewater's women's swimming and diving team had an impressive day defeating both Beloit College and Coe College Saturday afternoon in the Williams Center pool.

UW-Whitewater beat Beliot 151-70 and Coe 140-71. Coe and Beliot tied at 107 in their matchup.

The Warhawks were paced by multiple first place finishers. UW-W got out to a good start by winning the first event, the 200 yard Medley Relay, with the team of Danyelle Jenkins (Gurnee, IL/Tremper), Kristen Jahn (Wonderlake, IL/McHenry), Courtney Jenkins (Gurnee, IL/Gunee), and Shannon George (Fort Atkinson/Fort Atkinson)Hannah Peppey (Cambridge/Cambridge) added a first place finish in the 200 yard freestyle event. Casey Alf (Fort Atkinson/Fort Atkinson) helped out the UW-W cause by getting first in the 50 yard freestyle. Shannon got her second victory of the day in the 200 yard Individual Medley. Also finishing first was Katelyn Britt (Hartland/Arrowhead) in the 1 and 3 meter Diving eventa. Casey Benser (Hartford/Hartford) finished first in the 100 yard Butterfly. Alf added another first to her day with a win in the 100 yard Freestyle. Danyelle Jenkins (Gurnee, IL/Tremper) picked up her second first place finish of the day with a win in the 100 yard backstroke.  Jenny Ogle picked up a first place finish in the 100 yard Breaststroke. Finally rounding out UW-W's top finishers was the 400 yard Freestyle team of Alf, Peppey, George, and Kaylyn Howley (Sheboygan/Sheboygan South).

UW-W resumes action January 12, when they will be hosting Lawrence University at the Williams Center Pool.
