Warhawks Remain Unbeaten with Win Over Oshkosh

UW-Whitewater, ranked in the top ten in both national polls, upped its mark to 6-0 overall and 2-0 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with an 82-43 win over UW-Oshkosh in Kachel Gym in Williams Center Wednesday night.
 
Leading 10-8 with 14:29 left in the first half, Whitewater went on a 10-0 run to establish a double digit lead it never relinquished. The Warhawks led 50-15 at the half. UW-W shot 56% from the floor in the first half, Oshkosh 27%.
 
Whitewater led by as many as 45, twice, in the second half. 
 
UW-W used nineteen players in the game. Junior center Tiffany Morton (Beloit/Memorial) led the Warhawks with 16 points and 9 rebounds, both game highs in 18 minutes of action. Dana Thompson (Belleville/Belleville), sophomore center, added 10 points. Oshkosh was led by freshman guard Michelle Boeder's 14 points.
 
UW-W had just 11 turnovers in the game, while forcing 24 by the Titans. 
 
UW-Oshkosh is 4-3 overall, 1-1 in the WIAC.
 
Whitewater is ranked seventh in the D3hoops.com poll and ninth in the ESPN/USA Today poll. 
 
Whitewater will host UW-Superior Saturday at 1:00 in Kachel Gym in Williams Center. The game will be followed by the Warhawk men hosting the Yellowjackets at 3:00.
