In a double dual played in Lawrence Saturday, the Warhawks won their first match against Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) 43-0.
Dustin Fox (Milton/Milton) (jr, Milton) pinned MSOE's Sam Bramstedt in 2:10 in the 157 weight class, marking his first pin for the year.
Rob Schoner (Sussex/Hamilton) (jr, Sussex/Hamilton) also had a pin Saturday with a time of 3:50 in the 174 weight class. This also marked his first of the year.
In the Warhawks' second match of the night against Lawrence, the Warhawks won 37-9. Fox added another pin to his record with a time of 2:45 and increased his overall record to 6-3 and adding 2 pins to the season. Shoner also had another pin with a time of :31, making it his quickest pin of the season, his second of the night, and quickest for the team so far this season. Shoner's record is now 6-8.
UW-Whitewater's record is now 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC). Their next match will be after the new year on January 5 at the Lone Star Duals in Grand Prairie, Texas. Matches will start at 9:00 a.m.
