UW-Whitewater defeated UW-Stout 3-0 in the first round of the WIAC women's soccer tournament Tuesday, October 30 at Fiskum Field in Whitewater, Wisconsin .
Stephanie DesJardins (Park Ridge, IL/Main South) (So, Park Ridge, IL) scored on a header just twenty-one minutes into the game. The goal was assisted by Becky Cera (Wauwatosa/Wauwatosa West) ( Wauwatosa/ West), her team high eight h assists in the season.
Just five mintues before halftime Sara Brown (Lake Zurich, IL/Lake Zurich) (fr, Lake Zurich, IL) scored her fourth goal of season with an assist by Melanie Billinghurst (Lake Mills/Lake Mills) (fr, Lake Mills).
Sixty-two minutes into the game Mary Donohoo (Wauwatosa/West) ( Jr, Wauwatosa/ West) scored her eleventh goal of the season. Donohoo is fourth in goals scored in the Wisconsin Intercollgiate Athletic Conference.
UW-Whitewater is now 12-7-1. UW-Stout finishes their season 6-12-0.
The Warhawks will travel to University of Wisconsin Eau Claire to play UW-Stevens Point on Friday, November 2 to play in the WIAC semi-finals at 2:00 p.m. UW-Eau Claire faces UW-La Crosse at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 2nd in the other semi-final.
The winner of WIAC semi-finals will advance to Saturday, November 3rd for the WIAC tournament final game at 11:00 a.m.
