The Warhawks remained unbeaten in their last fourteen games with their 6-1 win over Concordia College of Minnesota Sunday, October 21, 2007 at Fiskum Field in Whitewater. The win brings Whitewater's season record to 14-1-2 as Concordia drops to 2-12-1.
Jason Blocker (Lauderdale Lake, FL/Anderson) (sr, Lauderdale Lakes, FL/Boyd Anderson) started the scoring for the Warhawks just five minutes into play with his only goal of the game which came off an assist from Jake Duros (Lake Geneva/Williams Bay) (fr, Lake Geneva/Williams Bay). Blocker's goal was the only score for the Warhawks in the first half of play.
Julius Sekyi (Greenfield/Whitnall) (fr, Greenfield/Whitnall) then scored three goals in the second period to lead put away the Cobbers. The first of his three goals came off an assist from Brett Acree (Hoosick Falls, NY/Whitefish Bay) (jr, Whitefish Bay) and the other two goals were unassisted. Sekyi's three goals on Sunday gave him a total of seven for the season.
Concordia's only goal came on a penalty kick just one minute into the second half after a Whitewater foul in the box. The game was riddled with fouls from both teams including eleven committed by Whitewater and thirteen by Concordia. There were also six yellow cards given in the game, one to Whitewater's Jason Blocker (Lauderdale Lake, FL/Anderson) and the other five to Concordia.
Whitewater will look to continue their unbeaten streak Wednesday, October 24 at Fiskum Field in Whitewater against, 14-2-1, Dominican University. According to D3kicks.com, Whitewater is ranked eighteenth and Dominican University is ranked eleventh. Whitewater lost to Dominican University 0-1 last year.
