The Warhawk women's soccer team defeated Milwaukee School of Engineering 2-0, Tuesday afternoon at Fiskum Field. The Warhawks record is now 7-6-1.
Mary Donohoo (Wauwatosa/West) (sophomore, Wauwatosa/West) scored a goal just twenty-four minutes into the first half. She was assisted by Jenna Samp (Palatine, IL/Palatine) (freshman, Palatine, IL) to give the Warhawks a 1-0 lead. This is Donohoo's ninth goal of the season which ties her for tenth place in the UW-Whitewater record book for goals in a season. Donohoo is also tied for first in the conference for goals this season.
The second goal was scored at the end of the second half by Kayla Viney (Cottage Grove/Monona Grove) and was assisted by Allison Davis (Hartford/Hartford) (freshman, Hartford). Viney collided with goalkeeper Leah Kutz and headed the ball in on a cross by Davis.
Goalkeeper Amy Bailey (Whitefish Bay/Whitefish Bay) leads the conference in shutouts, and recorded her seventh win of the season. Every game UW-Whitewater has won has been a shutout.
The Warhawks will play their next game on Friday, October 6, when they travel to UW-La Crosse for a 2:00 pm game.
