UW-Whitewater, ranked twenty fourth in the D3kicks.com poll, shutout Aurora University, who is ranked among the “others receiving votes” category, Thursday 1-0 at Fiskum Field in Whitewater.

UW-W, 12-1-1, extended its unbeaten string to twelve matches (eleven wins and one tie).  Aurora is 7-3-3.

UW-W is ranked sixth in shutout percentage and seventh in goals allowed in this week's National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III statistics.  Goalie EJ Sesselmann (Green Bay/Notre Dame) (sr, Green Bay/Notre Dame), seventh in goals against average in Division III, recorded his eleventh shut out of the season.

Whitewater scored the only goal seven minutes in to the game, on a Julius Sekyi (Greenfield/Whitnall) (fr, Greenfield/Whitnall) goal assisted by Matt Gehn (Oregon/Oregon) (so, Oregon).

Aurora had four shots on goal in the game, with UW-W goalie EJ Sesselmann (Green Bay/Notre Dame) making four saves.  Whitewater took eleven shots in the game, four on goal.  Aurora goalie Matt Ness had three saves.

Whitewater plays its next four matches at home beginning with UW-Platteville, October 17 at 1:00 at Fiskum Field.
