Michael Schwichtenberg, Senior, Punter

Schwichtenberg averaged 40.1 yards per punt and pinned No. 23 UW-Stout inside its own 20-yard line four times Saturday during the Warhawks’ 14-0 victory at Perkins Stadium. His performance helped UW-Whitewater limit the Blue Devils’ starting field position to their own 21-yard line. Schwichtenberg forced a fair catch midway through the first quarter at UW-Stout’s 13-yard line. Later in the quarter, he boomed a 74-yard punt, only eight yards shy of a school record, that was downed at the Blue Devils’ 7-yard line. Schwichtenberg’s 42-yard punt near the end of the first half pinned UW-Stout back at its own 1-yard line. With the Blue Devils trying to come back in the fourth quarter, he mashed punts of 47 yards and 49 yards to keep UW-Stout back near its own 20-yard line on both occasions.
