St. Louis, MO -- The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater tied with Webster 1-1 on Tuesday. The Warhawks were outshot 15-7, but recorded nine saves and put four shots on goal.
Luke Konrad (Buxtehude, Germany/Buxtehude Sued) put the Warhawks in front at 27:17, scoring off assists from
Tyler Chrisman (Lemont, Ill./Lemont Township) and
Owen Winegar (Arlington Heights, Ill./Fremd) to make it 1-0. Earlier, UW-Whitewater created the first sustained push with shots from
Aidan Glancey (Milwaukee, Wis./Whitnall) and
Aidian Martin (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls), including two Martin attempts saved by Jakub Samelko and a corner kick in the opening eight minutes. The Gorlocks answered with pressure of their own, but
Austin Waite (Naperville, Ill./Naperville Central) kept the half scoreless with four saves.Â

In the second half, Waite continued to protect the Warhawk lead, making five more saves, finishing the game with nine total saves.Â
UW-Whitewater protected a 1-0 lead until the final minute of the second half, when the Gorlocks equalized on a penalty kick at 89:12, finishing the match in a 1-1 draw.Â
The Warhawks return back to the pitch for their home opener against Marian on Saturday, September 12th. Kick-off is set for 5 PM.Â
