The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's tennis team fell to 25th-ranked Gustavus Adolphus in a Saturday night dual in Madison, Wis.
In the doubles flights, the Gusties managed to take the doubles point with victories at the first & second flight. The Warhawk pair of
Drew Van Fossen (Germantown, Wis./Germantown) &
Will Ulrich (Lincoln, Neb./Pius X) took the third doubles flight with a 7-5 win.Â
On the singles side, the Warhawks fell 5-1, with
Tyler Nelson (Waunakee, Wis./Waunakee) picking up the lone team point at No. 3 singles Nelson turned his match around after taking the second set without dropping a single game. The junior completed the comeback with a 6-4 third set.Â
Van Fossen took his match at No. 4 singles into the third set. Van Fossen took the second set in the tiebreaker to force a set three, but the Gusties' Knutson took the match with a 6-4 third set.Â
