Whitewater, WI – The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Men's tennis team welcomed Kalamazoo College this weekend, looking to get back into the win column.

Early on, the Hornets had the Warhawks' numbers in the doubles matches, taking two out of the three sets. Will Ulrich (Lincoln, Neb./Pius X) and Drew Van Fossen (Germantown, Wis./Germantown) of UW-Whitewater managed to pick up a win, but Kalamazoo still retained the match's first point.

The single matches brought some intensity to the Warhawks Tennis Courts, having two matches go to three sets, each team claiming a win in one of the two. In the first match, UWW's Theo Billson (Lindfield, England/BHASVIC) and Kalamazoo's Adnan Alousi had to take the first set to extras, in which Alousi came out on top. Billson would not be denied a win though, and took the next two sets to earn the Warhawks the point.

Later on in the fifth match, Charles Morgan (Naperville, Ill./Central) of Whitewater and Will Seymour of Kalamazoo also found themselves in a third set. This time it was Morgan who took the first set, but Seymour was able to climb back and earn the point by winning the last two nail-biting sets. 

In the other three matches, the Warhawks were able to win every set, giving them four of the five points from the singles matches, and earning them the victory 5-2.

The Warhawk men will next head to Ewing, New Jersey, to take on The College of New Jersey in the WIAC Championship match. The game is set to start at 12:00 p.m. on May 3rd.
