Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Chicago, IL – The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Men's and Women's tennis teams headed just south of the border to the Windy City to take on a pair of highly ranked opponents at the University of Chicago.

Right out of the gate for the men's team, UChicago proved to be a challenge for the Warhawks, taking the first two doubles sets, 6-4 and 6-1 and earning them the point. In the third set, Drew Van Fossen (Germantown, Wis./Germantown) and Will Ulrich (Lincoln, Neb./Pius X) managed to pick up a win, 6-3, giving the Warhawks their only flight win of the day. 

It was more of the same in the singles matches. For the UW-Whitewater men, Theo Billson (Lindfield, England/BHASVIC) and Tyler Nelson (Waunakee, Wis./Waunakee) were able to take their opponents to a set tiebreaker in their respective matches, but couldn't come out on top in either. The University of Chicago men were able to sweep the Warhawks in all sets, taking home the 7-0 victory. 

On the women's courts, the results were very similar. UChicago showed why they are the #1 ranked team in the country, taking all but one set in 9 combined games or less.

In the doubles matches, UChicago stifled the Warhawk women, winning 6-2, 6-1, and 6-1. In the singles matches, Alex Repplier (Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park) was able to erase a 4-1 deficit in her first set, sending it to a tiebreaker, but was unable to grab set one. The Maroon women went undefeated in all 15 sets, claiming an overwhelming 7-0 victory.

The men will host Kalamazoo College for their next game starting at 12 p.m. on April 27th.

The women head into next weekend looking to defend their WIAC Team Title. The Team Tournament will begin at 12 PM at the Warhawk Outdoor Tennis Complex. UWW takes on UW-Stevens Point in the first round.
