The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's & women's tennis team each a dual win over Division II opponent Roosevelt University.
The women's team defeated the Lakers, 6-1. The Warhawks took the doubles point, winning all three flights. The Warhawks took five of the six single flights.
Priyanka Bhogaraju (Barrington, Ill./Elgin Academy) highlighted the women's side picking up a close win at the 6 singles flight to wrap up the dual match. Bhogaraju dropped the first set in a close 4-6 set. The freshman found herself in a match deciding game, but flipped it and won the second set 7-5. She carried the momentum forward, winning the third set tiebreaker 10-8.
The men's team secured the sweep, taking their dual match 7-0.
Giovanni Vitali (Galgagnano, Italy/San Francesco) helped secure that with a close match at the fourth singles flight. Vitali dropped the first set 2-6, but ran away with the second set, 6-1. Vitali kept the tempo, winning the tiebreaker in a quick 10-3 decision.
