UW-W Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week (Feb. 3rd)

Women's Basketball

Carollo, Kacie

Kacie Carollo – Senior – Guard – Whitewater, Wis./Whitewater

Kacie Carollo registered her fifth consecutive double-double to lead the Warhawks to a 70-54 win over UW-Stevens Point Wednesday. The senior guard was efficient hitting 7-15 from the field, 1-1 from three-point range and 7-8 from the free throw line. Carollo scored 22 adding 12 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals and a block in 37 minutes played. 

Gymnastics

Specialist: Chloe Hammond - Sophomore - Ankeny, Iowa/Ankeny
 

Chloe Hammond helped the Warhawks break the program record on the vault, won the balance beam and contributed to UW-Whitewater's sixth-highest team total in program history at Winona State last week. The sophomore registered a 9.675 to tie for fith on the vault - helping UWW to a team record of 48.550 on the apparatus. Hammond closed the meet on the balance beam recording a 9.8 - the highest score on any event at the meet. That mark ties for eighth in program history and helped the Warhawks to a team total of 48.450 (third in the record books) on the beam. 
 

Swimming & Diving

Denton, Jenna

Women’s Swimming: Jenna Denton - Freshman - O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon


Jenna Denton won the 50 free in a season-best time of 25.04 and was the runner-up in the 100 free with another season-best time of 54.92 in the final dual of the season. Denton led off the 200 freestyle relay, registering the fastest lead-off time in the event (25.16), and she had the fastest fly split in the 200 medley relay (26.55). 
 

Weis, Caleb

Men’s Swim: Caleb Weis – Sophomore – Burlington, Wis.

Caleb swam his fastest non-rested times in both the 200 Free (1:49.64) and the 500 free (4:56.10). His highest place in the meet was 2nd in the 500 free.

Klepfer, Brookelyn

Women’s Diver: Brookelyn Klepfer – Freshman – Lake in the Hills, Ill./Huntley

As an athlete new to the sport this fall, Brooklyn has made amazing progress over the season. This week, she was the highest scoring diver for UWW, as she placed 3rd in the 1-meter event and 6th in the 3-meter event against stiff competition from UWEC divers.

Men's Tennis

Singles: Reuben Giorgio - Senior - Perth, Western Australia/Applecross
 

Reuben Giorgio picked up a win at No. 1 singles against #8 Washington University in St. Louis Saturday. Giorgio won the match 6-4, 6-3. Last weekend, Giorgio registered a 6-3, 3-6(10-7) win over Carroll University. 
 

Doubles:  Drew Van Fossen - Senior - Germantown, Wis./Germantown & Giovanni Vitali - Junior - Galgagnano, Italy/San Francesco 
 

Drew Van Fossen and Giovanni Vitali helped the Warhawks to great start in 2025. The pair defeated the No. 2 doubles pair from UW-Superior 6-3 as UWW swept the Yellowjackets in the first match of the year. On Saturday, the duo battled before falling to #8 WashU's No. 3 doubles team 6-4. 
 

Track and Field

Men's Track: Caleb Beightol - Sophomore - Sprints - Belgium, Wis./Cedar Grove-Belgium
 

Caleb Beightol won the 60 at the Leonard "Squig" Converse Invite Friday with the second-fastest time in program history. The sophomore registered a time of 6.76 - a mark that ranks second in the WIAC and is currently third in Division III. 
 

Men's Field: Ben Bunton - Sophomore - Multi - Hartford, Wis./Hartford
 

Ben Bunton led the Warhawks in the heptathlon at the Leonard "Squig" Converse Invite over the weekend. His total of 4,318 points finished third at the meet. 

Women's Track: Ari De La Cerda - Senior - Distance - Milwaukee, Wis./Pewaukee
 

Ari De La Cerda recorded the second-fastest 3,000 time in program history at a meet dominated by professional and Division I runners. The senior crossed the line in 10:04.22 on the banked track at Boston University (converted to 10:09.42) - a mark that is sixth in the WIAC. 

 

Women's Field: Brynn Fuerstenberg - Junior - High Jump - New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower
 

Brynn Fuerstenberg won the high jump with a personal best mark at the Leonard "Squig" Converse Invite Saturday. The junior registered a height of 1.62 meters (5-3.75) - a mark that ranks among the top ten in the UWW record and is currently among the top 30 in Division III. 

Wrestling

Jalen Dunson - Junior - 125 Pounds - Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park River Forest
 

Jalen Dunson won the 125 pound bracket at the annual Pete Willson Invitational in Wheaton, Illinois over the weekend. The junior's 4-0 record was bolstered by a pair of wins against top 10 opponents. Dunson opened the tournament with a fall (3:58) over Nebraska Wesleyan's Quinton Chavez. He topped John Carroll's Brett Stanley by 11-7 decision in the quarterfinal. To punch his ticket to the championship, Dunson took down #10 Quinton Wolbert of UW-La Crosse by 12-5 decision. In the title bout, Dunson registered a 4-2 decision over #6 Izzy Balsiger of UW-Eau Claire.
