Platteville, Wis. -- The UW-Whitewater volleyball team dropped a conference match in Platteville Wednesday evening falling to the Pioneers 3-0 (24-26, 24-26, 9-25).
The Warhawk offense outhit UW-Platteville 14-12 in the kill column, but the Pioneers were more efficient had the advantage in blocks 5-2. In set two, the defenses held the opposing offenses at bay as the Warhawks hit just .057 and the Pioneers .029. UWP turned up the offense hitting .357 in set three compared to -.037 for UWW.
Gaby DiMotto (New Berlin, Wis./West) paced UW-Whitewater with nine kills.
Faith Corbett (Northfield, Minn./Northfield) and
Abbie Dix (Brodhead, Wis./Brodhead) each had seven.
Aubrie Krzus (Wheaton, Ill./Warrenville South) posted 27 assists and shared team high honors with Dix with three blocks in the contest.
Natalie Lawton (Elmhurst, Ill./IC Catholic Prep) held down the backcourt defense with 10 digs in the three-setter.
