Warhawks with First Win of Season over Marian

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer team added their first game in the win column for the 2024 with a 3-1 win over Marian. The Warhawks scored two unanswered goals in the second half to take the win.

First Half
Marian put the first goal on the scoreboard in the Sunday afternoon contest. The Sabres went up 1-0 only 15 minutes in the game. Shortly after the goal, Marian put two more shots on net, but were turned away by Kara Smith (Joliet, Ill./Plainfield South), earning her first start in goal for the Warhawks.

The Warhawks tied things up heading into the break, with Jordyn Czarapata (Muskego, Wis./) capitalizing on a penalty kick opportunity.

Second Half
Coming out the break, the Warhawks looked hungry for their first win of the season. Only five minutes into the half, Jazmine Wilson scored her first collegiate goal to put the Warhawks up 2-1. Emily Thill (West Chicago, Ill./St. Francis) was credited with the assist on the play.

At the 56-minute mark, Thill added her own name to the scoring column, adding a bracer to the Warhawks lead.

UW-Whitewater's defense sealed the deal after closing down the Sabre's attack. Marian only took two shots on goal in the final 30 minutes of the game with Jude Dobrinska (Milwaukee, Wis./Ronald Reagan College Prep) turning away both.
