Seven Goals in Season Opener for Warhawks

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater opened the 2024 season with an explosive offensive night that saw seven goals from six different Warhawks.

1st Half
The Warhawks broke open the scoreboard only 2 minutes in, after a one-two header found the back of the net. Adam Kaup (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis./Lincoln) delivered the throw-in to Luka Breslin (Dublin, Ireland/Terenure College), who kept it in the air with his head for Zack Kristy (Burr Ridge, Ill./Lyons Township) to send it in.

Not too long after, Aidian Martin (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) put himself in good position in the slot to draw the goalie out. Martin snuck the ball over to the cutting Sam Bilyk (Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park & River Forest) for the second Warhawk goal of the evening.

Faizan Mohiuddin (South Elgin, Ill./St. Charles North) got the third goal scoring opportunity started with a cross into the box. Miles Hagen (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way West) saw the open James Kiraly (Twin Lakes, WI/Wilmot Union) who put it in for his first goal of the night.

Mohiuddin added another goal right before the break, threading the needle threw multiple Beloit defenders and his own teammate to find the back of the net.

2nd Half
The Warhawks didn't slow down in the second half even with a 4-0 lead. After beating his defender to the edge, Cooper Re (Kimberly, Wis./Kimberly) sent a cross right to Tucker Jahns (Elburn, Ill./Kaneland) who put it away for goal number five.

The Warhawks found the sixth goal on a set piece, with Matt White (Bangor, Northern Ireland/Bangor Grammar) placing a perfect corner for Dominic Mudlaff (Muskego, Wis./Waukesha Catholic Memorial) to score the goal.

The final goal of the evening came from Kiraly, who made a play on the ball as Beloit tried to pass it back to the keeper. Kiraly worked his way around the last defender for his second goal of the night and the Warhawks' seventh.
