The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer team had a strong offensive night, scoring four goals with 13 shots on goal in their 4-0 shutout of Coe College.
First Half
The Warhawks took only 5 minutes to put some numbers up on the scoreboard, with
Emily Thill (West Chicago, Ill./St. Francis) scoring the first Warhawk goal of the afternoon.
Brittany Ellinghaus (Plainfield, Ill./North) made the cross over the box to the left side, with Thill chipping it in the top right.
Ellinghaus also was a part of the second goal of the day, with another cross bouncing off the top of the crossbar and directly to
Jenna Laidlaw (Aberdeen, Scotland/Aberdeen Grammar) for the second Warhawk goal, putting them up 2-0 only 15 minutes in.
UWW added a third goal right before the break, coming off a set-piece corner kick.
Kaidence Horner (Geneva, Ill./Geneva Community) took the kick, with
Morgan Hoffman (Oswego, Ill./East) heading it over for
Kalee Fricke (Menomonee Falls, Wis./), scoring her first collegiate goal to put the Warhawks up 3-0 before the break.
Second Half
The Warhawks came out of the break firing right away, and it only took 30 seconds for the Warhawks to score their fourth goal of the game.
Gianna Zamborini (Louisville, Ken/duPont Manual) faked out the Coe defender with a half-spin move, before placing her shot into the top left corner of the goal.
The Warhawks kept up the offensive pressure, putting five more shots on goal in the second half. The extended offensive posessions kept Coe away from the Warhawk's net. The Warhawk defense only allowed two shots the entire game, with none on goal.
