The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer team scored three unanswered goals in the second half to pull away from Wheaton College for the 4-1 win at home.
First Half
The Warhawks showed early promise, keeping a steady attack on the Thunder defense to start the game.Â
The pressure finally paid off as
Emily Thill (West Chicago, Ill./St. Francis) scored the first goal to put the Warhawks on the board. Thill chipped a shot up just outside of the box that hit off the left post to bounce into the goal.Â
Wheaton connected on a corner kick to put the equalizer across the line at the 40th-minute, sending the game into halftime at 1-1.Â
Second Half
The Warhawks came out of the break firing on all cylinders as they scored three goals in the first 10-minutes of the half.
Jasmine Wilson (Sussex, Wis./Sussex-Hamilton) kick started the run after Thill found her on a through pass, Wilson went bottom left on her breakaway goal.
WIlson would also write her name in the box score on the next goal, sending a cross in to
Maya Rebic (Elmhurst, Ill./York Community) for the Warhawks' third goal.Â
Thill added the last goal of the night, putting a one-timer shot into the top right off an excellent cross from
Juliana Madonia (Schaumburg, Ill./James B. Conant).Â
With a three goal lead, the Warhawks closed the game on defense, only allowing one shot by Wheaton in the closing minutes.
