Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer Fall on Senior Day to Lawrence, 2-0

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer team fell to Lawrence University 2-0 on Saturday afternoon on Senior Day. Despite some good looks, the Warhawks were unable to find the back of the net as Lawrence took home the victory.

Prior to the game, the Warhawks recognized seniors Juliana Madonia (Schaumburg, Ill./James B. Conant), Brittany Ellinghaus (Plainfield, Ill./North), Maya Rebic (Elmhurst, Ill./York Community), Payton Navis (Cedar Grove, Wis./Cedar Grove-Belgium), Jordyn Czarapata (Muskego, Wis./), Emily Thill (West Chicago, Ill./St. Francis), Belle Blauert (Anoka, Minn./), and Margot Yelle (Geneva, Ill./Geneva Community).

First Half
The Vikings came out quick, but the Warhawks managed to hold off the attack. After a long shot bounced away from Jude Dobrinska (Milwaukee, Wis./Ronald Reagan College Prep), the Vikings thought they had a goal on the rebound, but Dobrinska made the acrobatic play to keep Lawrence off the board.

However, on the ensuing corner kick, Lawrence finally added to the scoreboard as an unlucky bounce rolled across the goal line.

Lawrence added a bracer in the 29th-minute, capitalizing on another corner kick opportunity. This time, a header on the far post found the back of the net.

The Warhawks looked to answer back, with Brooklyn Carlson leading the attack. Carlson had two shots on goal in the waning minutes of the half, but the Lawrence keeper kept her first half clean.

Second Half
With a two goal lead, the Vikings trusted their defense to stop a Warhawk comeback.

UW-Whitewater led in possession time in the second half, and put six shots up, but only one found its mark on goal. Lawrence put up four shots in the half, but none on goal.
