The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer team shutout St. Scholastica in a 4-0 win on the road Sunday afternoon.
The Warhawks took 40 shots including 21 on goal in the game finding the back of the net twice in each half. UW-Whitewater's defense did not allow a single shot in the first half. St. Scholastica registered eight shots in the second half - the five on frame were turned away by the Warhawk keepers.
Emily Thill (West Chicago, Ill./St. Francis) broke the stalemate in the 17th minute. In the 21st, Thill found
Maya Rebic (Elmhurst, Ill./York Community) for a second UWW goal.
Jordyn Czarapata (Muskego, Wis./) got in on the action with a goal off of a
Jasmine Wilson (Sussex, Wis./Sussex-Hamilton) assist in the 58th minute. Rebic tallied her second score of the afternoon courtesy of a
Juliana Madonia (Schaumburg, Ill./James B. Conant) assist in the 80th minute to round out the scoring.
Twelve Warhawks posted shots in the game including eight from
Gianna Zamborini (Louisville, Ken/duPont Manual), four of those were on net. All five of Rebic's shots were on goal with two finding their way passed the keeper.
Hannah Wolf (Oshkosh, Wis./West) and
Kara Smith (Joliet, Ill./Plainfield South) split time in net with Wolf tallying all five saves for UWW in the combined shutout victory.
