The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Women's Tennis team fell to UW-La Crosse in the first WIAC dual meet of the season. The match came down to the final flight, with the Eagles coming away with the 5-4 victory. The Warhawks suffer defeat for the first time in conference play since 2006.

UW-La Crosse took the lead after doubles, winning flights #1 and #3. The latter went into a tie-break, with Molly Asfeld (Waukesha, Wis./West) and Alex Repplier (Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park) falling narrowly 7-2 in the deciding set. 

Abigail Weaver and Ava Andrae (Cedarburg, Wis./) took the lone win for the Warhawk double pairs in the #2 doubles flight. The pair went back and forth with the Eagles, forcing a tiebreak. After jumping out to a 3-0 lead, Weaver and Andrae took the tiebreaker in a close 7-5 set. 

The two teams split the singles flights. Cassandra Lee came away with a 6-2, 6-1 victory in the first flight, with Weaver and Repplier picking up wins at the fourth and fifth flight respectively.

The Warhawks will head into hosting the Warhawk Fall Invitational. The one day event features eight teams, with 3 singles flights and 3 doubles flights.
