The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's tennis team defeated UW-La Crosse 8-1 on Friday afternoon. The Warhawks celebrated senior night as well as clinching the WIAC West Division, earning a spot in the WIAC Championship.

The afternoon opened up with a quick sweep at the double flights, with all three Warhawk pairs winning their matches in less than 40 minutes.

The Eagles picked up one singles flight, but the Warhawks secured the match early on, with three quick wins at singles No. 1-3.

Jordan Oaks (Wales, Wis./Kettle Moraine) put up an exciting match at No. 4 singles, taking his flight with a 10-6 third set tiebreaker. Josh Guillermo (Muskego, Wis./Marquette University HS) also went into the third set match tiebreak, picking up the match on a 10-3 tiebreak.

Both Oaks and Guillermo, along with Ridley Aranda (Bayside, Wis./Nicolet), Josh Baldwin (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie), and Luke VanDonslear (Marion, Iowa/Linn Mar) were recognized as the Warhawk Men's Tennis Seniors.

With the win over UW-La Crosse, the Warhawk men swept the WIAC West Division, winning the West Division title. The Warhawks will compete on May 4th against the WIAC East Division Champion for the AQ into the NCAA Team Tennis Tournament. 

Tomorrow, the Warhawks head down to Chicago to take the 2nd-ranked UChicago men's tennis team. The two nationally-ranked teams will compete at the Stagg Tennis Courts after the women's match.
