The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's track and field team competed in the UW-Platteville Invitational Saturday.
Tamir Thomas (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) was clocked in 14.74 to win the 110 hurdles. That mark ranks among the top 30 in Division III this season. He added a fifth-place finish in the 400 hurdles with a time of 56.80.
Shelvin Garrett II (Beloit, Wis./Memorial) won his signature event, the triple jump, with a leap of 15.08 meters (49-5.75). His marks is the fourth-best nationally so far this season. In the pole vault,
Brady Schaller (Winnebago, Ill./Winnebago) was sixth with a height of 4.43 meters (14-6.5).
Justin Krause (Ixonia, Wis./Pewaukee) led the Warhawks in the 800. His time of 1:54.80 was good for fourth.
In the relays, UW-Whitewater's
Ben Bojar (Pewaukee, Wis./Pewaukee),
Andy VanZile (New Berlin, Wis./West),
Nick McFadden (Waukesha, Wis./Pewaukee) and
Carsen Rindt (Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) combined to finish seventh in the 4x100 with a time of 41.88.
Tyler Jensen (Hilbert, Wis./Hilbert) led the Warhawks in the throws with a heave of 44.58 meters (146-3) in the discus to finish seventh.
