Box Score The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's soccer team fell in the semifinal round of the WIAC tournament to the top-seeded UW-Eau Claire Blugolds. The Blugolds scored three goals in the second half to pull away from the Warhawks.

The Warhawks came into the match looking for a rematch against the 7th-ranked Blugolds. In the regular season, the two teams ended in a stalemate after 90-minutes after the Warhawks scored an equalizer in the 80th minute.
The two teams started out physical, but UW-Eau Claire had the upper hand after two early corners and multiple throw-ins in the offensive third. The pressure boiled over when Tobias Volkmann for UW-Eau Claire got the Blugolds on the board in the first half in the 12th-minute.Â
The Warhawk defense tightened up, and put some pressure of their own on goal. Fionnnbharr Hartnett took the first Warhawk shot on goal, but UWEC's keeper made the save, keeping the game at 1-0 after 45.Â
Out of the break, the Warhawks found themselves with an early corner, but UW-Eau Claire was able to create a counter-attack opportunity for their second goal of the night.Â
The Blugolds added another goal, with Volkmann scoring on a free kick just outside the box to put UWEC up 3-0.
In the 70th-minutes,
Tucker Jahns (Elburn, Ill./Kaneland) found himself in a break away, with the keeper off his line, Jahns tried to chip it over, but the Blugold keeper swatted it down to keep the Warhawks off the board.
In the 80th-minute, Volkmann completed his hat trick for the Blugolds, putting them up 4-0 with time waning.Â
The Warhawks had some opportunities late, but were unable to get anything clean on goal.
With the loss, the Warhawks move to 10-7-4 during the 2024 season.Â
