Women's Soccer Closes Regular Season against UWRF; Reach WIAC Playoffs as 6th-seed

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer team fell in their final game of the regular season 4-0 to UW-River Falls.

With the loss, the Warhawks drop to the 6th seed, but remain in the WIAC play-off race. Women's soccer will head to Eau Claire for the 6/3 match-up on Tuesday, November 5th, at 7 PM. The two teams met in last year's first round as well, with the Blugolds advancing after PKs.

First Half
The Falcons shot out right away, with three shots on goal in the first 10-minutes of action. The Warhawks weren't far behind, with Maya Rebic (Elmhurst, Ill./York Community) taking the first shot on goal in the 11th minute. 

UWRF used the Warhawks offense to create a counter-attack, scoring the first goal of the day. The Falcons added another goal not long after, putting htem up 2-0 only 15 minutes into the contest.

The Warhawks took three more shots on goal, but the Falcons' goalie kept them out of the net, keeping the clean sheet after 45.

Second Half
Searching for a goal to close the gap, the Warhawks kept the pressure on the UW-River Falls defense. Rebic and Juliana Madonia (Schaumburg, Ill./James B. Conant) each had a shot in the first few minutes of the half.

With time winding down, the Falcons extended their lead with two late goals. UWRF extended the game to a 4-0 in the final 10-minutes.

The Warhawks were unable to respond to the large defecit, falling 4-0 in the final regular season game.
