The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's tennis team fell to UW-La Crosse in a conference match-up under the rain on Saturday evening.
First Half
After an hour delay, the game got underway, with the Warhawks bursting out on the offensive. The Warhawks were able to create a counter-attack after the opening kick-off, resulting in a corner kick at the five-minute mark.Â
Outside of the Warhawk attack, neither team was able to put offensive pressure on the net until the final 5 minutes of the half. UW-La Crosse recorded the first shot on goal of the game at the 42nd-minute mark.
The Eagles quickly followed that attack with their own goal in the 43rd-minute, going into the break with a 1-0 lead.
Second Half
Coming out of the half, UWL added on their second goal only 45-seconds into the half. The Eagles added goals #3 and #4 soon after to push up their lead in the second half.
In the 82nd-minute, the Eagles grabbed goal #5 from about 40-yards out. Soon after, a weather delay resulted in an early end to the game at 84:40, resulting in a 5-0 win for the Eagles
