The University of Whitewater-Wisconsin welcomed MSOE for a Friday night soccer match on Fiskum Field. The two teams battled it out under the lights and remained even after 90 minutes.
The Warhawks opened up the scoring in the first half. After a cross from
Megan Howard (Lakeland, Minn./Stillwater Area),
Gianna Zamborini (Louisville, Ken/duPont Manual) tapped the ball over to
Allie Prigge (Palatine, Ill./Fremd). Prigge netted the shot, putting the Warhawks up 1-0.
UW-Whitewater kept on the attack, looking for a bracer goal.
Juliana Madonia (Schaumburg, Ill./James B. Conant) fired a shot that hit the upper right cross bar, narrowly missing the back of the goal.
The Warhawks spent a lot of time on the offensive end, resulting in eight corner kicks in the first half alone.
The Raiders opened up the second half with a goal of their own, tying the game 1-1. The Raiders looked to take the lead, taking six shots on goal in the second half alone, but
Jude Dobrinska (Milwaukee, Wis./Ronald Reagan College Prep) covered up everything, making nine saves (six in the second half).
The Warhawks return to Fiskum field on Sunday, September 10th to take on St. Scholastica at 3 PM for Youth Day. The game will be after the men's game against Fontbonne.
