The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Women's Soccer team picked up their first win of the season with a shut-out match against St. Scholastica.
Gianna Zamborini (Louisville, Ken/duPont Manual) opened up the scoring for the Warhawks at the 15-minute mark.
Margot Yelle (Geneva, Ill./Geneva Community) connected with Zamborini on a cross to put the Warhawks up 1-0 in the first half.
The Warhawks kept the Saints out of the attacking zone in the first half, only allowing two shots on goal while making six of their own.
Anna Gunderson (Mukwonago, Wis.) added on the bracer in the second half with
Jordyn Czarapata (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) picking up the assist. The Warhawks added onto their lead 10-minutes later, with
Emily Thill (West Chicago, Ill./St. Francis) collecting a rebound off the St. Scholastica goalie to add on the third goal.
Jude Dobrinska (Milwaukee, Wis./Ronald Reagan College Prep) and
Emma Hager (Arlington Heights, Ill./Hersey) picked up the clean sheet together. Dobrinska picked up four saves in her 84 minutes while Hager made one save in the last 6-minutes.
The Warhawk women will be back in action on September 13th against Luther College for a one-game road trip. They return home to Fiskum Field on September 20th to play Carthage at 7 PM.
