The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Women's soccer team fought back in the second half against visiting Loras College, but the two first half goals from the Duhawks was too much.
Loras College (3-0) added to the scoreboard first, lobbing a ball past the Warhawks defenders. Julia Neary got underneath it and put it in the net on the breakaway.
Loras added another goal before half, after a Warhawk foul just outside of the goalie box. Hannah Schmitz put the free kick in the upper left corner.Â
Coming out of the break, the Warhawks worked at the deficit, getting a good look after the Loras goalie bobbled a cross, but were unable to grab it before the goalie fell on the ball.Â
Loras added on to the lead, after an amazing save off a corner by
Jude Dobrinska (Milwaukee, Wis./Ronald Reagan College Prep), Savannah Johnson picked up the rebound and layed it in. A couple minutes later, another Loras goal made it 4-0.Â
Jude Dobrinska (Milwaukee, Wis./Ronald Reagan College Prep) finished 90 minutes in net with 8 saves.
Liz Prigge (Palatine, Ill./Fremd) had the lone shot on goal for the Warhawks.
The women's team will be back out to Fiskum Field on Friday, September 8, 2023 to take on the Raiders of MSOE.
