The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater volleyball team took down Millikin in straight sets 25-13, 25-20, 25-17 Saturday afternoon to improve to 13-2 on the season.
The Warhawk offense was on fire from the opening serve, rolling through the first set without committing a single attack error. The team's .548 attack percentage was bolstered by
Jenna Weinfurt's (Waukesha, Wis./Catholic Memorial) seven kills.
Set two was more of the same although the box score showed a single blemish in the error column.
Ally Warburton (St. Charles, Ill./North) and
Kirsten Anderson (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) combined to hit .500 with 9 kills in 18 attempts.
UWW transitioned from offense to stifling defense in the third set posting six blocks.
Abbie Dix (Brodhead, Wis./Brodhead) led the way with six block assists in the third set alone.
For the match, three Warhawks registered double digit kills led by Warburton's 13. Weinfurt posted 12 and Anderson tallied 11 in the contest. Defensively at the net, Dix led all players with a solo block and nine block assists.
Aubrie Krzus (Wheaton, Ill./Warrenville South) teamed up on seven blocks and added four kills in six attempts with no errors while posting 33 assists.
Morgan Jensen (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) tallied a team-high 10 digs in the match.
