The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Women's soccer team kept with Carleton in the first half, but the Warhawks fell in the second half with a Knight's 3-goal run.
Last year's MIAC champions scored first in today's game. After a shot bounced off a crossbar straight into the lap of Carleton's forward.
UW-Whitewater didn't take long to answer back, with
Jordyn Czarapata (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) finding the back of the net after a beautiful cross from
Brittany Ellinghaus (Plainfield, Ill./North).
Emily Thill (West Chicago, Ill./St. Francis) set up Ellinghaus for the cross, earning two assists on the goal.
After the break, Carleton added on the go-ahead goal after another unlucky rebound for the Warhawks.
Carleton would go on to add two more goals before the end of the game, collecting the 4-1 win over the Warhawks.
The Warhawks head out on the road for their next game on September 27th to face Wheaton College. UW-Whitewater will return back to Fiskum Field on October 4th to take on WIAC opponent UW-Oshkosh.
