Warhawks 4-0 After Two Wins Saturday

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater registered a pair of sweeps Saturday to improve to 4-0. The Warhawks topped Edgewood 25-20, 25-10, 25-17 before capping the UW-Whitewater Invite with a 25-7, 25-18, 25-22 win over Wheaton College. 

Outside hitter Jenna Weinfurt (Waukesha, Wis./Catholic Memorial) and setter Aubrie Krzus (Wheaton, Ill./Warrenville South) were phenomenal in helping UWW to a 4-0 start on the season. For the weekend, Weinfurt hammered down 58 kills in 12 sets - an average of 4.83 per set. She added 26 digs, four service aces and nine block assists on the weekend. Krzus dished out 128 assists - averaging 10.67 per set. Offensively, she added 12 kills while tallying eight aces. Defensively at the net, Krzus posted 13 block assists in 12 sets. 

Weinfurt hit .348 in the first match Saturday with 12 kills in 23 attempts. Middle hitters Kirsten Anderson (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) and Hannah Proctor (Durand, Ill./Durand) were phenomenal at the net combining for 11 kills in 18 attempts without committing an error while adding six blocks. Krzus added four aces and dished out 32 assists. Morgan Jensen (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) was the lone player in the match to record double digit digs with 10. 

In match two Saturday, Weinfurt was dominant with 16 kills. Once again, Jensen was the lone player with double figure digs, this time registering 15. Defensively at the net, Anderson blocked down four Wheaton attack attempts. Rylee Duessler (Sussex, Wis./Sussex Hamilton) put the pressure on from the service line with seven aces.
