The No. 9 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's volleyball team topped No. 24 Cornell College 3-1 (15-25, 25-21, 25-18, 26-24) in the team's first match of the Mabel Lee Invite hosted by Coe College in Cedar Rapids Friday night.
The Warhawks have two more matches against ranked teams in the invite as they will take on No. 5 Northwestern-St. Paul, a rematch of the NCAA Regional title match from last season, at 10 followed by a noon match against the host, No. 23 Coe.
Neither team was especially efficient Friday, but the Warhawks pulled out the win to move to 5-0 on the season. UWW did register a higher attack efficiency hitting .118 while the Rams had the same number of attack errors as kills. UW-Whitewater's defensive presence at the net was fantastic with 2 solo and 20 assist blocks on the evening.

In the backcourt,
Aubrie Krzus (Wheaton, Ill./Warrenville South) posted 10 digs to go along with 29 assists.
Morgan Jensen (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) was a dig shy of the double digit mark.
