The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's golf team claimed 6th and 15th as
Ellie Johnson (Johnsburg, Ill./Johnsburg) set an individual record at the Illinois Wesleyan Fall Classic over the weekend. Johnson's Saturday card of 69 is the best round by a Warhawk golfer in program history.
The Warhawks combined for a total of 305 Saturday followed by a 310 Sunday for a team score of 615 to finish sixth at the invite. Johnson led the way after breaking the UW-Whitewater record Saturday. She carded a 73 Sunday for a total of 142 to tie for second at the tournament.
Kallie Lux (Janesville, Wis./Craig) added a top 15 finish with rounds of 74 and 77 (151).
Abbie Reiser (Washington, Ill./Washington Community) (79-80-159),
Lily Sheppard (Sherwood, Wis./Kaukauna) (85-80-165) and
Haley Myers (Somerset, Wis./Somerset) (83-85-168) contributed to the team total.
A second UW-Whitewater squad finished 15th at the tournament..
Emily Akers (Schaumburg, Ill./Schaumburg) led the way with rounds of 84 and 81 for a total of 165.
Jessica Velent (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Adlai E. Stevenson) (84-82-166),
Kellie Shanahan (Wauconda, Ill./Mundelein) (84-83-167),
Emma Norton (Lanark, Ill./Eastland) (91-80-171) and
Megan Honn (LaFayette, Ind./Jefferson) (89-92-181) followed Akers.
Sammy Galian (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) competed as an individual at the tournament.
