Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Re with Two Goals in 3-1 Victory

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Men's Soccer team battled back from an early deficit to overcome the Blue Jays 3-1 and remain unbeaten on the season.

Westminster opened scoring quickly, grabbing a goal only three minutes into the game. But the Warhawks wasted no time with their response, picking up their own goal at the 8-minute mark. Max O'Schasky (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek) scored the equalizer, receiving the assist from Mason Diercks (Oregon, Wis./Oregon)

The Warhawks would go on to score again in the first half, with Adan Kaup finding Cooper Re (Kimberly, Wis./Kimberly) at 20 minutes. Soon after, UW-Whitewater added on another bracer, with Cooper Re (Kimberly, Wis./Kimberly) picking up another goal, this time Miles Hagen (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way West) was credited with the assist.

After going up 3-1 in the first half, the Warhawks played an efficient second half, minimizing the chances for a Westminster comeback. UW-Whitewater cruised out to the 3-1 victory.

In keeper, Matthew Vollmer (Lake Zurich, Ill./Lake Zurich) got the start, playing the first 15 minutes and making 1 save. Duncan Morgan (Oregon, Wis./Oregon) came in to finish out the last 75 minutes, picking up three saves during his time as keeper.

Morgan continues to extend his Warhawk record, achieving 607 consecutive minutes as a keeper without allowing a goal.

Up next, the Warhawks finish out their six-game road stretch on Wednesday, September 20. UW-Whitewater travels to Dubuque to take on Loras College. Kick-off is set for 7 PM.
