The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's tennis team opened the 2023 season with a league win over UW-Oshkosh 8-1 Friday afternoon in Whitewater.
The Warhawks took two of three in doubles play before sweeping singles action. Mackenzie Lindow and Alexandra Repplier teamed up for a quick win at No. 2 doubles. They topped the Titan duo 8-2 in just 28 minutes. In her first collegiate appearance,
Ashley Adkisson (Licolnshire, IL/Stevensen) battled for a win in the longest match of the day. After nearly two hours, Adkisson picked up the win 6-3, 6-7(9), 10-3.

The Warhawks will host their annual Fall Invite Saturday at the Outdoor Tennis Complex. Competing teams in the bracketed tournament include UWW, Carthage, UW-La Crosse, UW-Eau Claire, UW-Oshkosh, Augustana, Grinnell and Luther.
