The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater baseball team topped Milwaukee School of Engineering 6-3 in 11 innings on the road Wednesday night.
Following a lengthy weather delay, the Warhawks and Raiders took to the field over an hour after the scheduled start time Wednesday. The delay didn't seem to affect UWW as the Warhawks got on the board right off the bat.
Jacob DeMeyer (Rhinelander, Wis./Rhinelander) reached on a fielder's choice and motored all the way around to score on
Donovan Brandl's (Rudolph, Wis./Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln) double to center in the next at bat for an early 1-0 lead.
Adam Cootway (DePere, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) opened for the fourth with a double to right center.

Matt Korman (Waterford, Wis./Waterford Union) capitalized with a two-RBI double to left center to give UWW a 3-0 lead after four.
MSOE narrowed the gap in the bottom of the sixth plating a pair of runs on three hits. The Raiders tied the game with a single run in another three hit frame in the eighth.
From that point, neither team advanced a base runner passed first base until the top of the 11th. DeMeyer led off the 11th with a walk. A MSOE miscue had Warhawks on the corners and the Raiders opted to load the bases with an intentional walk with no outs. Devin Rubin capitalized with a single up the middle to bring in two. Joe Gorden (Fox Lake, Ill./Grant Community) took the second one for the RBI to give UWW a 6-3 cushion.
The Warhawk defense held in the bottom of the frame for the win.
Twenty-one Warhawks saw action in the game. Cootway led UWW at the plate as the only batter with multiple hits in the game.
