The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's tennis team fell to Washington University in St. Louis 9-0 Saturday afternoon.
John Zakowski (Green Bay, Wis./Southwest) and
Luke VanDonslear (Marion, Iowa/Linn Mar) pushed Phuc Huynh and Abhi Ramireddy at No. 1 doubles but ultimately fell 8-7(7-5). At No. 2 doubles,
Cole Lindwall (Cottage Grove, Wis./Monona Grove) and
Tyler Nelson (Waunakee, Wis./Waunakee) suffered an 8-6 loss to Gaurav Singh and Scott Yamamoto while
Payton Adkisson (Lincolnshire, Ill./Stevenson) and
Parker Hearne (Roscoe, Ill./Hononegah) were topped by Patricio Garcia Muriel Pasquel and Colin Scruggs 8-2.
In singles play, Zakowski went up against Ramireddy once again falling 6-4, 6-2. VanDonslear met the other Bear from doubles play falling 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 singles.
Lindwall dropped his No. 3 singles match 6-2, 6-0 to Jared Phillips. Nelson registered the longest match in singles play narrowly falling to Singh 3-6, 7-5, 10-6.
Will Ulrich (Lincoln, Neb./Pius X) and Adkisson lost their matches and No. 5 and 6 singles 6-1, 6-3 and 6-0, 6-1 respectively to WashU's Scruggs and Eric Kuo.
