The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Men's Soccer Team took home a huge win over Knox College on the final home game of the regular season and Senior Night for four Warhawk team members.
After some back and forth between both teams, the Warhawks found the back of the net on a well drawn set play deep in the offensive end.
Fionnbharr Hartnett (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) took a free kick just outside of the goalie box, dumping it off to
Peyton Nichols (Green Bay, Wis./Bayport) who placed the cross for
Miles Hagen (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way West) to finish off and score.
The Warhawks didn't take long to add more to their lead, with
Tucker Jahns (Elburn, Ill./Kaneland) intercepting a Knox clearance to add the bracer goal.
UW-Whitewater added one more goal before the end of the half, with
Matt White (Bangor, Northern Ireland/Bangor Grammar) scoring on a penalty kick, giving the Warhawks a 3-0 lead at halftime.
During halftime, the team recognized seniors
Duncan Morgan (Oregon, Wis./Oregon), Dom Mudlaff,
Will Morgan (Naperville, Ill./Central), and team manager
Ethan Bergen for their time and commitment to the Warhawk men's soccer program.
Once play resumed in the second half, the Warhawks did not waste any time adding another goal to their lead after the break. Hartnett took a shot off a corner play, the ball bounced off a defender right back to Hartnett who added another Warhawk goal to the board.
A fifth Warhawk goal came from
Conner Heath (Pleasant Prairie, Wis./Tremper), with
Alex Gotz (Kenosha, Wis./Tremper) picking up the assist on the lob through pass.

Duncan Morgan (Oregon, Wis./Oregon) even got involved in the scoring, with a penalty kick goal to put the Warhawks up 6-0. As keeper, Morgan made three saves in his 79 minutes in net.
Not long after Morgan's PK,
Sam Bilyk (Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park & River Forest) scored his own goal, with Heath picking up the assist.
Knox was able to able to add two of their own goals late in the game, but with 10 minutes left, the lead was too great.
The Warhawks beat the Prairie Fire 7-2 to finish finish their regular season with a 13-1-4 record for a 0.833 win-percentage, a UW-Whitewater season best (records go back to 1978).
The Warhawks will await the results of other C2C Conference opponents to see who they will play in the C2C Conference Tournament. This year, the tournament is held in Santa Cruz from November 2nd to 5th. Currently, the Warhawks sit in the 4th seed spot of the tournament.
