The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Women's Soccer Team fell on the road to the Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks in an abnormally warm night for late October.
The Warhawks found themselves down early in the game, with Illinois Tech opening scoring up quickly with a goal only two minutes into the game.
The Warhawks were unable to gain much ground on the offensive end, and the Scarlet Hawks added two more goals before the end of the half to make it 3-0.
UW-Whitewater was able to put some attacks on the Scarlet Hawks goal, placing two shots on goal in the first half, but none made it past the keeper.
To begin the second half, the Warhawks had multiple opportunities in the attacking zone, resulting in corner kick opportunities. UW-Whitewater was unable to convert on these, and Illinois Tech was able to add another goal to their lead.
IIT added another two goals before the final horn and did not allow another shot on goal from the Warhawks.
Emma Hager (Arlington Heights, Ill./Hersey) made five saves in 74 minutes in the net.
Allie Prigge (Palatine, Ill./Fremd) and
Brittany Ellinghaus (Plainfield, Ill./North) each had a shot on goal in the first half.
The Warhawks women's soccer team will return home for their last regular season game, a conference match against UW-River Falls. The Senior Day game is set to kick off at 3 PM on Saturday, October 28th.
