Warhawks Score Three Unanswered Goals to Win

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Men's Soccer Team scored three unanswered goals to pull ahead of Concordia-Moorhead on Sunday afternoon.

Concordia-Moorhead scored the first goal of the game after an unlucky bounce resulted in a Warhawk hand ball within the goalie box resulted in a penalty kick. The Cobbers connected on the PK and went up 1-0.

The Warhawks kept on the attack, looking to tie the game before half. The Warhawks found their chance with Jacob Mouille (Waunakee, Wis./Waunakee) placing a ball past the keeper off a free kick. With the tying goal, the Warhawks entered the half tied up with the Cobbers.

It didn't take long for the Warhawks to take the lead, with Peyton Nichols (Green Bay, Wis./Bayport) placing a perfect corner kick to Tucker Jahns (Elburn, Ill./Kaneland) who headed it into the goal to put the Warhawks up 2-1.

The Warhawks pulled ahead after a Moorhead yellow car set up a free kick. Mouille led Nichols for the header goal to put the Warhawks up 3-1.

The Warhawk defense held strong the second half, thwarting a Cobber comeback. UW-Whitewater didn't allow a single shot on goal from the visiting team.
