Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

UWW Women's Soccer Topped by UW-Stout, 4-2

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Women's Soccer team scored quickly, but were unable to outpace the Blue Devils in a 4-2 loss to UW-Stout.

The Warhawks first shot of the game found the back of the net after deflecting off the goalie. The shot by Emily Thill (West Chicago, Ill./St. Francis) passed through the goalies legs after Gianna Zamborini (Louisville, Ken/duPont Manual) found Thill on the cross to put the Warhawks up 1-0.

UW-Stout was able to score the tying goal quickly, and then the leading goal on their first two shots of the game. The Warhawks looked to add their own tying goal, but were unable to before the half, entering the break down 2-1.

The Blue Devils added a bracer goal only six minutes into the second half. The Warhawks answered back this time, Jordyn Czarapata (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) shot the ball and it bounced off the crossbar into the legs of Emily Thill (West Chicago, Ill./St. Francis). Thill scored the goal with Czarapata picking up the assist from her crossbar deflection.

With the Warhawks only trailing by a goal, they went on the attack trying to tie up the game. Stout put together a counter attack, adding a bracer goal from Hailey Kane, her third of the game for the hat trick, giving Stout the 4-2 victory.

The Warhawks will bounce back next Tuesday against Illinois Tech in their last non-conference game of the season. After that, the women's soccer team will have one more home game of the regular season, taking on UW-River Falls on October 28th at Fiskum Field for Senior Day.
