The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's soccer team cruised to a 4-0 win over Beloit College bolstered by a pair of goals from
Tucker Jahns (Elburn, Ill./Kaneland).
Â
The Warhawks dominated with an 18-2 advantage in shots including a 9-1 sway in shots on goal. UW-W also tallied eight more corner tries than Beloit.
Â
In the eighth minute, a foul drawn on the Warhawks' offensive half of midfield led to the opening score of the contest.
Dominic Mudlaff (Muskego, Wis./Waukesha Catholic Memorial) drove the ball deep into the box and
Peyton Nichols (Green Bay, Wis./Bayport) rose above the competition heading the ball over the top of the outstretched keeper's hand and into the back of the net.
Â
Tucker Jahns (Elburn, Ill./Kaneland) extended the lead in the 26
th minute. Possessing the ball near the top, right side of the box, Jahns used some nifty footwork to put a Beloit defender on his heels and set up a 1-on-1 with the Buccaneer keeper. Jahns tried to give himself a better angle when he was tripped up by the goalie in the box. The referee signaled for the clock to stop and approached, pulled out his yellow card and signaled for a penalty kick. Jahns stepped to the ball and capitalized to make it 2-0.
Â
Just over four minutes later,
Zeke Healy (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago) sent a driving ball toward the near post on a corner kick.
Aidan Glancey (Milwaukee, Wis./Whitnall) went up for the header and connected, finding the back of the net to widen the gap to 3-0 before the break.
Â
Jahns struck again within the first minute of the second half. Another free kick near midfield led to a loose ball in the box. Jahns was able to get a good boot on it and finish into the lower left of goal for the final score of the contest.
Â
Duncan Morgan (Oregon, Wis./Oregon) went the distance in net for UW-W registering a save in his first win of the season.
